LAND TRAINING

Swimmers carry out land training during, before or after their pool session.   This is to help raise their temperature prior to swimming training:

and to mobilise their key muscle groups:

as well as stretch out after their swimming sessions. 

It is beneficial for swimmers to repeat these land training exercises, at home. Please do note, however, that adult supervision is required when children are doing exercise in order that they are performing correctly and avoiding any injuries. 

Swimmers need to also think about hydration and nutrition.  It is important to be correctly fuelled before training and/or galas. Nutrition ideas are provided here:
